Since its inception in 2020, the Navarra Quartet (United Kingdom) has won international acclaim as one of the most dynamic and poetic contemporary string quartets. Winner of a number of contests and grants, the ensemble has affirmed itself performing at major global venues like Wigmore Hall, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Konzerthaus Berlin and the Sydney Opera House.

In 2010 in the presence of the composer Peteris Vasks, Navarra string quartet recorded they first album with Peteris Vasks Stting quartets 1-3. After the close collaboration in the past years the composer decided to invite the quartett to participate in his festival in Cēsis.
